Uptrend Broken Support

Uptrend Broken Support stock alert presents a technical analysis stock market picking technique based on combination of technical indicators, stock trend analysis, trend following indicators and pattern recognition. Stock market alert is a warning signal. Uptrend Broken Support alert is a confirmation that long term uptrend reversal is completed and a new downtrend is establiched.

Unlike other alerts, broken resistance is not a buy/sell signal. It is rather warning signal that trend direction has changed. For entry point it is usually better to wait for pull back and retest of support trendline. This point is considered as a second chance to sell long position (or open short positions) in uptrend reversal.

The weekly MACD line is above its signal line since May 1, 2026. This is an indication that the medium-term trend is up. The distance between MACD and the signal line is relatively high, but getting smaller. It indicates that the current medium-term uptrend is still strong, and momentum is beginning to wane. Use the following link to access a MACD help.

Short-term trend: [See CVS short-term trend chart]
A short-term downtrend had started on July 22, 2026 at 110.68 and reached 106.00 on July 23, 2026. CVS lost 4.68 points, or 4.23%, in 1 days. Price is near the Fibonacci 38.2% retracement level. The Fibonacci retracement level is considered a support/resistance level.

The daily MACD line is below its signal line since July 22, 2026. This is an indication that the short-term trend is down. The distance between MACD and the signal line is low, but getting bigger. It indicates that the current short-term downtrend is getting stronger.

During the last week, the price has fallen below the Parabolic SAR (stop and reversal). A Parabolic SAR above the price is a bearish signal, and it indicates that momentum is likely to remain in the downward direction. A Parabolic SAR is used as a trailing stop loss for long or short positions. It works best during strong trending periods. Use the following links to access Parabolic SAR Help, or use the Technical Stock Screener to see the list of stocks with the Parabolic SAR close to the price level.

During the last week, the 20 Day Moving Average has advanced above the 50 Day Moving Average. Such crossover is considered a bullish signal. The moving average crossover signals work better when the stock develops a strong trend, but they are ineffective when the stock is in a trading range. Moving average crossover systems can be effective, but should be used in conjunction with trend patterns, momentum indicators, candlesticks and other aspects of technical analysis. Use the following links to access Moving Average Crossover trading technique, or use the Technical Stock Screener to see the list of stocks with the Moving Average close to the price level.
